Our Story
Some things start with a business plan. This one didn’t.
Alba began the way most honest things do — with a feeling that something was missing.
We had spent years around tennis, drawn to the sport not just for the game itself, but for everything it represents. The discipline, the elegance, the ritual of it. But somewhere along the way, the gear stopped keeping up. Bags became billboards. Function ate form. The quiet confidence we loved about the sport was nowhere to be found in the things you carried.
We looked everywhere. Nothing was right. So we decided to make it ourselves.
Alba was built from that frustration — and from a shared belief that the things we carry should reflect the way we want to live. Not just on the court, but everywhere. That a bag should move effortlessly from a morning match to an afternoon in the city without announcing itself. That craft should speak louder than a logo.
We are two people with different backgrounds and a shared sense of what we think is beautiful. That combination — structure and warmth, restraint and joy — shapes everything we make, from the materials we choose to the way we talk about the brand.
Alba isn’t just a product line. It’s an expression of something we believe in: that fewer, better things make for a richer life. That elegance is never loud. And that the best things — bags, apparel, all of it — are built to last, on the court and off it.
Brand Philosophy
Tennis deserves elegance again.
There was a time when sport and style coexisted naturally. When the things you wore and carried felt considered, timeless, and a little effortless. When you admired the look before you even noticed the brand.
That seems to have quietly disappeared.
Today, tennis gear often feels overworked. Heavily branded, technically maximalist, designed to shout. There’s no shortage of performance. There’s a shortage of beauty.
Alba exists to fill that gap.
We believe the best design doesn’t compete for attention — it earns it slowly. That a bag should feel as good to carry on a Monday morning as it does courtside on a Sunday. That materials should be chosen with care, details with intention, and nothing added that doesn’t need to be there.
This philosophy runs through everything we make — our bags and the apparel that sits alongside them. Each piece is shaped by the same principles: restraint, craft, and a quiet confidence that doesn’t need to announce itself.
We’re not a performance brand. We’re not a fashion label. We exist somewhere between the two — in the space where sport meets everyday life, and where the things you carry say something about you without saying too much.
Alba carries elegance forward. Not as nostalgia, but as a standard.
Because the sport deserves it. And so do you.
Behind the name
Names matter.
Alba is the ancient Gaelic name for Scotland. It’s a word that carries weight — one that speaks of heritage, of something deeply rooted, of an identity that doesn’t need to prove itself. It felt right for a brand built on those same qualities.
But the name carries a second meaning, one closer to home.
Before Alba was a brand, it was almost the name for our daughter. We held onto it for months — drawn to it, unable to let it go. When we ultimately chose a different name for her, Alba didn’t disappear. It stayed with us. And gradually, it became clear why.
It had grown into something larger than a name. It became the word for everything we were trying to build together — the values, the craft, the quiet sense of pride we wanted to carry into the world.
That’s the dual meaning at the heart of this brand. Alba looks outward — grounded in history, shaped by culture, connected to something enduring. And it looks inward — held together by family, by shared experience, and by the belief that what you make should mean something.
It is both a heritage and a home.
We think that’s a rare thing to find in a name. And an even rarer thing to build a brand around.
RESPECT FOR TRADITION:
Every ALBA product begins with a deep appreciation for the sports that inspired it — the timeless form, etiquette, and discipline of tennis and golf.
STYLE OVER PERFORMANCE
We are not a high-performance brand. We prioritise elegance, silhouette, and feel — pieces you want to wear beyond the court or course.
BRITISH QUALITY, BRAZILIAN SOUL
